WeatherClimate in Frigiliana
Due to its location, protected by the Sierra de Almijara mountains, Frigiliana has its own micro-climate which includes approximately 320 days of sunshine per year. Only 7 kms from the Mediterranean sea, it has a temperate, sun-tropical climate which means that winter temperatures rarely drop below 18 ºC and the summers are warm. As a result it is idyllic at all times of year for outdoor activities such as painting.
Frigiliana also benefits from low rainfall which together with the long hours of sunshine makes this a unique place to join a painting holiday.
The Sierra de Almijara mountains rise to over 1800 metres to the north of Frigiliana, and it acts as a barrier against the cooler northerly winds that occasionally affect much of the rest of Spain during the winter months.
