We are pleased to announce we have added a stunning new location to our painting holidays in Europe.
Our new painting holiday in Bulgaria will be a two centred holiday- the Rhodope Mountains and the ancient town of Plovdiv.
First we spend a few days in the beautiful Rhodope Mountains. This of the most beautiful and mysterious mountains not only in Bulgaria, but throughout Europe. Known as the mountain cursed by the gods and the mountain of Orpheus, Rhodope offers many beautiful locations for landscape and village painting. We stay in the most luxurious villa called Villa Gella in the mountain village of Gela http://www.villagella.com/. Here we are spoilt with panoramic views of the Rhodopes, delicious Bulgarian cuisine specially created by our resident chef and luxury individual rooms. We have sole use of the villa with its indoor swimming pool, yoga area and sauna.
The ancient town of Plovdiv, voted European Capital of Culture in 2019 is the second location for our painting holiday. The myriad of art galleries set in old merchant houses are an inspiration to our creative week of painting. We paint in the spectacular Roman amphitheatre and the cobbled streets in the Old Town. Excellent food and wine is as ever an essential past of our painting holiday as well as meeting new people and enjoying the company of other creative people.
You are guided throughout the painting holiday by professional artists and tutor Anna Martin. She will provide you with new tools and techniques to capture the essence of this beautiful country. You paint in any medium of your choice, the sessions and relaxed and fun and you will return with many memories and some paintings recording your holiday.
